The MTCV Home Page has taken 154 hits during February and 5034 since April 1996. Look to see more information such as magazine articles up on the web in the embers only section.

Daylight Saving finishes on 26th March. Clocks will be moved backward one hour, so you will have an extra hour to make the Yarra Glen pick-up for Tim Walker’s Torbreck River Ride, Eildon way.

Dave Ward is organising a dirt ride on Saturday March 25th, Frankston Motocross Track, Wells Road, Seaford. Start 11 am, $10 entry fee. So if you want to ride and fall off with friends, join Dave for a fun day out.

Brighton Yamaha are running a Phillip Island Ride Day on Wednesday 5th April. Member Tony Fabris, who works for Brighton Yamaha, is organising the day and can be contacted on 9585-3111. Riding with a bunch of people you know and trust is great fun. Speeding is essential, and obviously carries far less risk than on public roads. Lunch is provided. Get organised, take a day off, and use your bike for what it was designed for, at arguably the best motorcycle race track in the world, Phillip Island. Should be a great day. Dave Ward is a certain starter and can answer further questions on 9563-7705 or mobile 0413-624-598.

Road Conditions Reporting Line: 9854-2899 where motorcyclists can report road conditions and give suggestions for improvement on any road in Victoria.

Welcome to new members for the month of February:

We wish them a safe and enjoyable riding with the Club

PORT CAMPBELL WEEKEND

Saturday 11th, Sunday 12th and Monday 13th March

CANCELLED CANCELLED

Unfortunately due to the exorbitant cost of accommodation and the lack of participant for this weekend the Committee have decided to CANCEL the weekend away. A variety of Pubs, Motels and Guest Houses were contacted with the cheapest double room costing $95 per night. This compared with our original venue (Apostles View) at $100 per night. Even local Pubs had imposed a holiday surcharge with the Boggy Creek Pub $100 per double room per night. The Committee felt that this was just too expensive for a weekend away with the two nights costing $200. On top of that, there is the expense of fuel, food and drink. Elsewhere in this newsletter are details of a replacement day ride.
