This ride was for those not heading down to Phillip Island for the 500GP. It was decided that a trip to the "bike friendly" Buxton Pub for a meal and to watch the telecast of the races could be popular!

I arrived at Yarra Glen to find only Ken Wright (R1) in attendance; so much for the popularity. Next Ron Johnston (CB750) arrived. This at least gave us 3 starters and as no leader had appeared we agreed to continue on to Buxton. It was still early so we decided to head across to Healesville, Launching Place and Warburton. Then we continued through the Reefton Spur to Marysville and Buxton This was virtually a repeat of last week’s ride but as a puncture had forced me out of that ride, this gave me the opportunity to catch up on what I had missed!

The Reefton was damp in places but still quite grippy so a good pace could be set. What was strange was the total lack of bikes on this section of road. In fact we saw no bikes until we actually got to the Pub! We parked the bikes, ordered our meals then found a good spot to sit and watch the telecast. Unfortunately I had a daughter’s birthday to attend and could only stay until the end of the 125 race. Thanks to Ken & Ron for their attendance.
