Christmas Camp will again be at the Mt. Buffalo Caravan Park between December 26th and January 1st. Three unpowered sites have been booked for this period. Contact Ian Payne for details.
Just a reminder that there is no January meeting but a brief newsletter will be posted out to inform/remind members of "whats on".
Discussion took place on future ride days and if Broadford was suitable! Committee will check and report back on best venue for us.
The new February to May itinerary is to be compiled soon. Would any member who has ideas or wants to lead please contact the Committee.
Ian briefly outlined Mark Ayling's crash and that he is now out of hospital (broken arm required plating) and seeking repairs on his ZX9.
Ben spoke about the pending sale of his beloved ZXR750 and Dominator to be replaced by a NEW CBR900RR1 Fireblade.
Danny Kosinski reported that the speed camera on the GO Road (Lavers Hill ride) had not got him!
Ian spoke about Life Membership and how this honour is bestowed upon members who put an exceptional amount of time and effort into the Club. The contribution these members put in is often "behind the scenes" and hence the general membership is unaware of the sacrifices. But the Committee has recognized an individual that is more than deserving of this award and it is with great pleasure that I welcome Ben Warden to Life Membership of the Motorcycle Touring Club of Vic.
Ben has been a member of the Club since 1982 and coincidentally joined in December of that year so tonight would be his 18th anniversary. Over that time Ben has held most committee positions and therefore has a vast knowledge on what best suits the Club. Congratulations Ben.
Ben responded with anecdotes of past years, thanked Ian for his kind words, and noted that Ian's nine years as Editor was a major contribution to the Club, considering the difficulties he laboured under.
Door Prize: 1st. Danny Kosinski, 2nd. Di Welsford, 3rd. Bruce Saville.
Close Meeting: 9.45pm.
