Sat. 11th          Novice/Casual Ride                                                                      Breht Emmerson leading

10 am Whittlesea

This is our inaugural Novice Ride catering for Learners, riders just returning to motorcycling after a long break, and everything in between. We will need regular members to make the Corner Marking System work, to provide information to prospective members and to provide a good riding example. So please show your support by attending, if not all, then at least part of the day. The route will be good: Kinglake, Flowerdale, Strath Creek, Yea, Molesworth, Alexandra, Eildon, Taggerty, Marysville, Healesville.  Some shortcuts to abbreviate the ride may be incorporated depending on rider experience level, weather conmditions and time constraints. Expect in the order of 200 km at legal speeds (of course). Suit a pillion!

Sunday 12th    Highlands                                                                                           Trevor Harris leading

                        10 am Whittlesea

Remember to take it easy if the morning has been damp.   Short ride today!  From Whittlesea to Wallan via Flowerdale, Strath Creek, Broadford and Wandong.  Morning tea for bike and rider: fuel and bakeries :)  Up the highway (behaving ourselves for 10 km) to Lancefield.  Fine weather will see us take the Burke and Wills Track to Baynton, Emu Flat and across to Pyalong. Otherwise the back road (turn right after Lancefield) to Pyalong it will be.  Glenaroua to Seymour, then lunch at the hamburger caravan on the road into Seymour. Fed and watered, Highlands is next on the list of places to pass through, then down to Ghin Ghin.  A short stretch of highway and Junction Hill beckons.  Back to Flowerdale and Kinglake West, breaking up at Whittlesea once more. Around 320 km for the day.

Sunday 19th   Brisbane Ranges                                                                                   Geoff Jones leading

10 am West Gate Shell Service Station

Over the West Gate Bridge and down the freeway to Werribee taking care not to miss the exit. On to Anakie along straight roads, then into the Brisbane Ranges via Maude, Steiglitz and Meredith for morning tea after 115 km of great roads. The thirstier bikes will need fuel before we set off into more twisty smooth roads completing a loop of the Ranges back to Anakie. Note the fabulous Black Boys and how they have recovered after the bushfires. North to Bacchus Marsh, Greendale, Trentham, Springhill, Woodend, Mt Macedon and back to the Jones Residence (12 Kurung Crt East, Gisborne) for lunch. Val Jones normally does a fantastic spread – remember those Hill Climb coffee and cakes? To finish we’ll head back to Bulla via Wild Dog Road. Expect about 340 km for the day.

Sunday 26th   Loch                                                                                                 Paul Southwell leading

                        10 am Berwick

Parallel to the highway to Drouin, then down to Loch for morning tea. Next stop Korumburra for lunch and fuel via Archies Creek as we wind our way around the many interesting and seldom used back roads. After lunch we’ll head up the Korumburra-Warragul Rd, around the roundabout and off to Nilma, avoiding Warragul suburbia and its traffic lights. On to the Crossover sweepers to Neerim South. Depending on the weather and hour, we’ll either continue north towards Noojee (the preferred option) via the Neerims to break up at Powelltown, or alternatively head directly for Jindavick, Longwarry North and the freeway. Both options are good. Expect around 310 km for the day. Good tyres essential!
