Day Weekend, Walwa Pub Ben Warden leading
Mon 28th Friday
early start
Rides depart
The plan: Get to Walwa Pub, some 130 km east of Albury,
Friday night. Ride around some of the best country and roads in the world
Saturday and Sunday, a short ride on Monday, then go home.
Option 1: Those riding up can leave in an organized
group from Yarck – a common point for those heading up the
Option 2: put your bike on a trailer and drive,
arriving anytime Friday night, saving on tyre wear. Last year three or four
people chose this option.
The deal: it is a long weekend nation wide and
accommodation will be scarce. We can book the whole pub, an ideal situation,
but we must commit early. The cost of a room is $44 per night. There are
7 rooms – 2 doubles, 4 twin share, 1 six berth. I have tentatively booked six
rooms, effectively the whole pub, for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. If
you want a room to yourself, pay the money to me as soon as possible - $132.
First in, best dressed. If you are happy to share, then find a friend and halve
the costs.
