Ian invited discussion on the new meeting/social sip concept. Majority found in favour although there was a comment that we should have some discussion regarding Club business at these informal meetings. Committee will discuss!

The Club has two free tickets for the "Historic Winton" race meeting on the 26/27 of May. Contact Ian Payne.

Discussion on flyers sent to the Club over the previous couple of months:-

• Beyond Horizons Adventure ride from Perth to Adelaide. 3700km in 15 days!
• Alpine Rally — June 9/10/11
• Icicle Ride — July 7/8.
• Scooter Club newsletter. Life member Len Shearer had been corresponding with this club and we had copied some old newsletter at their request.

On those old newsletters, Len Shearer had some stored away from the early 1960’s, which were donated to our club. Dianne Welsford has copied them to floppy disc and now Ben has put then into our member’s section on our web page. All members are asked to have a look; they make fascinating reading!

As previously reported in the newsletter, the Club is finding it difficult to make ends meet. Therefore we have no option but to increase the membership fees. In the Treasurers absence, Ben explained the reasons and did the sums to demonstrate the need for the fees to increase to $40 PA.

But to indicate the Club can actually save you money, Peter Doak mentioned that he quoted the MTCV on his bike insurance renewal and received a discount!

As tonight is our AGM, Ian closed of further discussion and closed the general meeting.

Captain: Ray Walker — elected unopposed.

Vice Captain: Darren Hosking and Bruce Saville — Darren declined, Bruce elected.

Social secretary: Kirsten Anderson — elected unopposed.

• Les advised Committee duly elected, thanked members present and declared the meeting closed.

• Ian thanked Les and the members for their participation.

• Jon Riddett proposed a "vote of thanks" to the committee and inquired whether the "Club Person of the Year" would be voted on!

• Ian replied that this award had been superseded by the "Club Participant of the Year" with the difference being that the winner of this award did so by the accumulation of points allocated for participating in Club events. While the previous award winner was selected by a ballot on the night by members present! So in reality the winner could just be a popular member and not necessarily contribute much to the Club.
