April 2002 MSTCV Itinerary
Sunday
7th Trawool Resort,
10.15 am Whittlesea
Ray has
volunteered to lead this one while Wayne Grant is recuperating. This ride may
suit a pillion or the missus could meet you there in the car. Trawool Resort
offers pub style meals in a picturesque location. They normallay
put us in a large room off the main area which has magnificent views of sloping
hills. Of course to get there we have to travel on some of the best roads close
to

14th Licola Ron Johnston
leading
10.15 am Hallam
This ride is
marked as not suitable for inexperienced riders. It is about 500 km there and
back. The 60 km from Heyfield to Licola is superb bike riding country but
requires care. The road surface is sandpaper like in its grip, and the scenery
is either undulating hills, or heavily forested. Ron will lead us all the back
ways through Yallourn and Moe, avoiding the Highway where possible. Home via

A play in the hills around Kinglake as we head westwards. Lots of good roads. We may find ourselves at The Cross atop Mt Macedon if warm enough. Expect around 400 km for the day.
