(September 2) Results for both Superbike races in Germany last night ran Edwards, Bayliss and Hodgson, while Casoli, Chambon and Fujiwara lead the supersport.
(September 2) KTM rider Andy Caldecott could have earned himself a start in next year's prestigious Paris-Dakar off-road rally after winning a third successive Moto Division title in the Australian Safari international cross country event which finished today. The 38-year-old South Australian won the 4,375km event over eight days in rural NSW with a consistent ride in the final stage from Dubbo to Bathurst, while Holden Rally Team Jackaroo racer Bruce Garland claimed a record fifth Safari victory in the Auto Division for four-wheel-drive vehicles.

(August 29) It's now confirmed that Texan Colin Edwards has signed with Ducati for a world Superbike ride next year. His current team, the UK-based Honda Superbike squad, may lose its Castol sponsorship in 2003 - prompting the move.
(August 29) Karl Muggeridge will be joining fellow Aussie Chris Vermeulen on the Team Kate world Supersport team in 2003.
(August 26) The Red Bull MotoGP outfit, which includes Australian rider Garry McCoy and is currently using Yamaha two-strokes, will be on Honda RCV211s next year - backed by the fettling expertise of Moriwaki. It will be interesting to see what Yamaha does to counteract this. Will it also develop a satellite team for its M1?
(August 26) A major rework of Yamaha's M1 MotoGP bike helped Max Biaggi take a race win at last night's Brno GP. Kato and Ukawa ran home second and third, while Rossi retired with tyre problems. Meanwhile Aussie Casey Stoner scored his highest ever place in the 250 class - fifth.
(August 26) The Texas Pacific Group is said to be looking for a buyer for its 33% shareholding in Ducati. Alongside that rumour is that Harley-Davidson may be interested. Although whether H-D would want to obtain a sports brand in competition with Buell is open to debate. This will be an interesting one to watch, as there are a number of potential suitors.
(August 23) Ten network race commentator and former world GP champion Barry Sheene yesterday announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer, after complaining of a sore throat. The illness was discovered early last month. He has been quoted as saying, "This is a total pain in the arse, but I'm going to fight it."
