This ride is not suitable for inexperienced
riders – or for those new to the Club. So don’t bring a mate, unless you are
very confident. Sounds harsh? The ride is long and hard and people fall off.
And our recent crashing record is pretty dismal. Having said all that, this
ride is normally a great day out. Ray knows all the back ways to Lorne, though
he may stop at Moriac on the way through. Lunch at Lavers Hill, 45 km the other
side of Apollo Day. Back home either via
Lorne and Deans Marsh, or up through
Sunday 22nd Gembrook (short ride) Ian Payne leading 10.15 am Hallam
Ian will lead us on his speciality ride, connecting all the best local roads. We’ll head north around through Harkaway and back to the highway at Packenham before heading into the Dandenongs proper. Lunch at Gembrook, with a couple of alternative routes to end the ride, depending on the conditions. A short ride. Expect around 150 km of mainly twisty roads. Keep an eye on your speed in the built up areas.

Les has kindly
offered his Heathcote caravan park facilities for use as a BBQ site. The plan
is to go for a pleasant ride through the northern ranges eventually finding
ourselves in Heathcote around lunchtime. To comply with the ‘bring your own
meat’ request, riders will be able to conveniently purchase meat at the local
supermarket, open 24 hours, seven days a week. Of course, beverages could also
be purchased. Les will look after everything else. Those considering driving
should plan to meet the group around
