General Business:                 Peter, Ian & Ben spoke about Mario’s crash at a “ride day” at Phillip Island. He is in good spirits and will probably be out of action for at least 3 months!

The new itinerary for February to May is now available,

Some highlights being:

The Tasmanian Trip, a film night of Les Leahy’s recent Outback Adventure and a trip to Portland for a long weekend.

As in previous years, Easter will consist of rides on Good Friday and Easter Sunday only. As ANZAC day falls on the following Friday we will have a 3-day ride centred on Portland.

The Shire of Yarra Ranges is having an organised ride through the Reefton Spur on Feb. 22nd.

Marysville Bakery is holding their “Big Bakery Biker Bash” on Feb.23rd.

Ian then highlighted some problems on recent rides where riders leaving a ride or getting fuel inadvertently led the group astray! This problem can be easily avoided simply by the rider waiting and informing the rear rider of their intentions!

Ben also outlined some concerns he had and advised that we should “all listen to the leaders spiel of the days ride, obtain petrol at the designated stops, if a crash occurs all riders should proceed only leaving the rear rider there and be prepared to move off when the leader is ready”. Although we don’t intend for our rides to be too regimented, by following common sense and some of the above observations we can minimise ride hold-ups and have an enjoyable days riding.

Phil Richards advised us of a “bike friendly” boot maker!  For all leather goods & footwear repairs go to Dandy Cobbler, 46 Walker St. Dandenong.
