World Superbike 2004 - Round 7 - Laguna Seca - Race 1, July 11th, 2004.

After recovering from a very poor start Chris Vermeulen quickly worked his way to the front and then streaked away from his pursuers in the opening laps of this first of two World Superbike races at Laguna Seca. Vermeulen took a slippery win to close to within striking distance of the Fila Ducati boys on the championship table.  Chili got the better of Martin for second place while Toseland got the better of Laconi four fifth place.

World Superbike 2004 - Round 7 - Laguna Seca - Race 2, July 11th, 2004.

In the closing laps Laconi and Haga's battle really hotted up with the pair sliding, monoing and squirreling their way out of every corner as they battled for position.  It was Laconi who got that third place in the end while out in front Toseland could not find an answer for Vermeulen's speed and consistency and it was the young Australian who took the win, and the double on the Ten Kate team's first visit to the American circuit.

Government attitudes to rider training - focus on WA, July 22nd, 2004  -  By Trevor Hedge.

Last month in WA a huge media effort was put in to highlighting some stunts performed by a few irresponsible motorcyclists on public roads.  That these fellas were stupid enough to publish photos of themselves doing these stunts on public roads on a publicly available website gave the media all the evidence they needed for a huge beat up. I believe this media push was a coordinated effort to gain support for new, so called 'anti-hoon' legislation passed in WA.  This draconian legislation gives police the power to suspend licences on the spot, and also allows for the confiscation of vehicles.

The No.11 Seven Stars Honda led from the start, before being passed by the No.7 Honda, with the No.8 Suzuki and No. 778 FCC TSR close behind.
