Rain had been in abundance all week, so it couldn't rain today! Feeling up to the challenge, Annalisa and I geared up and headed for Whittlesea. Arriving at our departure point, Geoff and Damien were there to welcome us. While discussing weather charts, a group of 30 WRX's came down the road, one after the other and were headed out in our direction. Geoff explained our route for the day: "Broadford, Lancefield, around Mt Macedon and back to my daughter and son in law’s for lunch." Meredith wasn't on the cards.

At 10:10am we left for Broadford, Enzo arriving just in time. Passing Kinglake, the WRX's were parked at the general store, thankfully giving us a clear run. From Broadford, we headed across to Pyalong and Emu Flat. The roads were a bit rough and narrow, but it was the wind that ruffled my feathers. I don't know how Annalisa stayed on!

Finding a small section of dirt road near Baynton, Enzo flew past and showed how it was done. Prevailing winds still didn't blow us off, while brief showers were just enough to clean our visors.

After a short break and fueling up at Lancefield we were soon back on track for another squirt up to Gisbourne via the scenic route of Kyneton, Trentham, Greendale and Bacchus Marsh.

Reaching our destination point, the hospitality shown was exceptional! The Jones' and family had put on a real BBQ smorgasbord that was too good to miss out on. While dining together overlooking the mountains, Ian Payne rang to let us know that he was pulled over by the plod around Christmas Hills, and hence missed the ride. Fortunately he was let off with a warning.

After lunch Geoff showed us around his new home, a short stroll further up the hill. Hard work and a bit of concrete finally established their new home-sweet-home.

Great food and company made for another heavenly day. It was now time to head off, so we followed Paul and Ben out of Gisbourne. Sun out, with panoramic views on display, I wasn't sure if Paul was watching the road or the hilltops.

It was an incident free day, except Ben running out of fuel. Total of 350 km's found us home again, safe and well. Thanks to Geoff, Val and family for a great lunch and spending time with us.
