10 am Whittlesea

Flowerdale, Yea, Molesworth and Alexandra for morning tea after 100 km. Then on to Eildon via Skyline Road and down the Torbreck River Road offering 37 km of uninterrupted twisties. Look out for deer hunters.  Back to Eildon for lunch after 106 km. We might have a slow ride along the dam wall before heading along the back roads to Thornton and Taggerty, then down to Buxton and Marysville for the final break-up at Healesville after 75 km and another great ride. Expect around 280 km for the day.

Sunday 16th     Trafalgar via Woodend                                                                       Ben Warden leading

                        10 am Yarra Glen

Across to Healesville and Yarra Junction to pick up the Powelltown Road, then down through Crossover, Neerim South and Brandy Creek to Drouin for morning tea after 120 km along every possible sort of good riding road. Next stop Mirboo North picking up Leongatha, Hallston and a variation around Dumbalk. Three km of dirt along the Arawata Rd making a total of 112 km. After lunch we’ll head north to Thorpdale and deviate up through Coalville to Moe, Hill End, Noojee and Powelltown to break up after a further 113 km. Looking at the route, the ride would not suit inexperienced riders, or first time Club riders. Expect around 350 km of challenging roads for the day. Good tyres essential, wet or dry.

Sunday 23rd    Strathbogie via Highlands                                                                    Ern Reeders leading

                        10 am Whittlesea

Leg1 Flowerdale, Strath Creek, King Parrot Creek Rd, Highlands, Caveat, Gobur and Yarck after 134 km of varied and interesting back roads.  A little bit of highway to Merton and then north to Strathbogie and Euroa for fuel after a further 64 km. This may be the lunch stop as well. On to Violet Town and then south through Boho to Strathbogie, Merton and Yea for a regroup after 127 km. Then on to Kinglake West via Flowerdale to break up after a swift 57 km. Expect around 395 km for the day with lots of unusual roads.

Tuesday 25th   Marysville (short ride)                                                                                 leader required

                        10 am Yarra Glen

It is ANZAC day, so look out for various memorial services which could block the roads at various towns. With luck the gravel across the Reefton Spur will have dissipated by this stage returning the road to its former good self. If not, then options of a squirt up to Lake Mountain or around to Warburton and up Mt Donna Buang are tempting. Expect around 200 km for the day

Sunday 30th     Mt Macedon                                                                                      Trevor Harris leading

                        10 am Whittlesea

Then on to Pyalong and Lancefield for lunch followed by the Burke and Wills (bumpy) Track, then back to Woodend and up Mt Macedon for a view from The Cross. On to Romsey to break up at Wallan. Easy ride, suit pillion. Expect around 280 km.

May

Thurs.  4th       Annual General Meeting

Club Hall, Inglesby Road, Camberwell, Melways 59 J2

A representative from St Johns Ambulance has been invited to address us on what to do after a motorcycle accident. Specifically we will be instructed on how to move a person into the recovery position, what to do in case of bleeding, breathing difficulties; all the things we might reasonably expect to be able to perform in an emergency situation. It is important that as many members attend as possible.
