The MSTCV Home Page at www.mstcv.net.au took 496 hits during April
(down 40 from last month) and has taken 29,240 since April 1996. Only a minimum amount of
work on the home page this month, other activities such as 8 days in Tassy soaking up the time. The new itinerary will
appear in a week or so for the period June, July, August and September.
If you are trying to contact Joel Haley on his mobile there is a mistake
in the membership list where a six is confused with a zero. His mobile number is: 0411 780 623. And don’t try Peter Feistl on his work number as he is now between jobs. He also has a new email
address: [email protected]

The Club Participant of the Year is based on aggregate points accumulated at 1 point per ride, an extra point for leading or being rear rider, and 1 point per magazine article (maximum 2 per magazine). Attending one or more days of a weekend event scores 3 points for leading, 3 for rear riding duties and 2 points for participating.
After a year the final scores are: Ben Warden (98.5), Lyn Duncan (85), Ian Payne (71), Paul Southwell (61), Ron Johnston (51), Ern Reeders (50), Breht Emmerson (43), Joel Haley (39.5), Peter Feistl (37) and Dave Ward (34). No changes for the month other than Joel moving up a place. It was a pretty low scoring month for most people other than Lyn who picked up 8 points, twice as many as any other person in the top ten. Rain, hail or shine, she was there. This completes the Club participant points tally for another year. See next month’s magazine for your personal tally. Any errors should be reported to the committee.
A stake has been driven in to the ground. Reserve Saturday evening of the 19th August to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the MSTCV, likely to be a sit down meal at a local pub in a private function room, or better still, a bowling or fishing club or other similar venue, yet to be decided. Anyone with contacts please get in touch with the Committee. For instance, is your brother/father a member of the local footy club that leases out their premises? Think about it. The pubs look to be pretty expensive.

Mark Rigsby crashed his near new Suzuki GSXR1000 earlier in the month while rear
riding. The accident occurred on the last steep, downhill section running into
Noojee, not far from Bill Wee corner, at the end of the Trafalgar via Hill End ride on Sunday 16th of April. The bike was rideable but sustained cosmetic damage to a
number of panels. Mark expects to have the bike back on the road for about
$1400 in about three weeks time.
The overnight ride planned to Mt Buller, April 8th and 9th, did not eventuate. Only four people turned
up on the day and the weather was dismal, the ride abandoned. Perversely,
Sunday’s weather was perfect.
Cliff Peters and Danny Hawker were out riding in the
Western district as is their want. Danny’s ZX10 has recently been brought back
to pristine cosmetic condition under warranty with the replacement of various
panels that have succumbed to vibration. They swapped bikes. A rabbit crossed paths
with the mighty ZX10 and jammed up between the front wheel and the radiator
braking brackets and smashing a $450 side panel. Cliff survived unscathed, not
so the rabbit. Imagine if it had been a wombat.
Paul Grosser has got to the bottom of his Kawasaki ZX12R blowing fuses after handing
the bike over to the bike shop. After about three weeks they determined that
the problem was the black box. With so few of the model in
