Dear Member,
At the February
General Meeting a motion to align the Club Membership Year with the Club
Financial Year will be put forward. The meeting, as per the Club web page (www.melbsportsbike.net.au) will be held at 6.30 pm at the Tower
Hotel,
The motions is that the Club Constitution article 2 (1) be amended such that:
“Financial Year means the year
ending on 30th June.”
According to the Club’s Constitution, the financial year finishes on the 30th April each year. By convention, the Annual General Meeting is held immediately after in May. But, historically we have been incorrectly running the financial year to finish on June 30th. We would like to remedy this technical breach by changing the Financial Year date to the 30th June, just like most other financial institutions.
A consequence of this move is that the AGM, normally held in the following month, will now move to July, two months later than the current May meeting. This will have no financial impact on the members.
Below are a couple of relevant excerpts from the Constitution.
Please attend the meeting as a quorum of 15 is required to pass this motion.
Regards,
